TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Dwi Soetjipto, the president director of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said the planned distribution of Pertalite gasoline this month had been canceled. Dwi said the testing of the new gasoline had not yet concluded and there were prior steps Pertamina should take before distributing it.
Among the steps is preliminary discussions with stakeholders, plus informing the public about Pertalite. "All must be taken care of to avoid confusion," said Dwi on Thursday.
Dwi could not confirm yet as to when all the steps would be completed. "If everything is ready, we will announce it, but not this month," said Dwi.
Pertamina spokesperson Wianda Pusponegoro previously said Pertamina was still waiting for the permit to sell Pertalite from the directorate general of oil and gas. Wianda said she had requested specification testing for Pertalie but the results had not come out yet.
Last April, Pertamina marketing director Ahmad Bambang said Pertamina would distribute Pertalite in May 2015. In the early stage, Pertamina will distribute 500 kiloliters per day. "After that, it will be increased to 1,000 kiloliters per day," said Ahmad.
