TEMPO.CO, Bengkulu - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) has called on the Communication and Information Ministry to verify and block online games promoting violent content.
“We ask that the ministry runs feasibility testing of online games’ content,” said KPAI commissioner Susanto in Bengkulu on Thursday, April 30, 2015.
Susanto said this is part of the protection for children against what might be detrimental to their mental and psychological state, given that some 13,000 children nationwide were presently accessing the Internet to play online games.
“Children have the right to access healthy information and be rendered protection against graphic material on the Internet,” Susanto said.
Susanto said the ministry had formed a team to look into this matter, in which a KPAI member is involved.
