Sultan of Ternate Died at the Age of 79

    TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Sultan of Ternate, who is also a member of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) Mudaffar Sjah, died at the age of 79 in Pondok Indah Hospital on Thursday, February 19, 2015, after suffering from disease complication.

    Vice Chairman of Comission III of the DPD Fahra Idris said that Mudaffar had been receiving medical treatment in the hospital for a quite some time. "His age was also very old," Fahira said on Thursday, February 19, 2015.

    Mudaffar is the 48th Sultan of Ternate and was elected as a parliament member to represent North Maluku for the 2014-2019 period.

    Head of the DPD Irman Goesman also expressed condolences through his Twitter account @IrmanGusman_IG.
