TEMPO.CO, Makassar – The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) has erected more posts in seven regions in three provinces on Sulawesi Island, including in Donggala regency, Central Sulawesi, where evacuation teams discovered more wreckage of the ill-fated AirAsia flight QZ8501 in the waters off the regency.

Basarnas set up four posts in West Sulawesi, viz. in Polman regency, Central Mamuju regency, Majene regency and Mamuju city. The other two posts are located in Parepare city and Makassar city in South Sulawesi.

“There are seven posts in total,” said Deden Ridwansyah, the chief of the Makassar Basarnas Operations Section on Tuesday, February 10, 2015.

Recovery teams and locals discovered Tuesday what appeared to be part of a human right leg on the shore of Wiringtasi village, Suppa district, Pinrang regency, South Sulawesi at around 5:40 p.m. local time. The leg was believed to belong to a victim of the crashed AirAsia plane.

Recovery teams also found two pieces of alleged wreckage of the aircraft. The body part has been transferred to East Java’s capital of Surabaya for identification measures by the East Java Police’s Disaster Victim Identification (DVI), while the wreckage is now kept at Suppa Police Station. “We will take it to the SAR post in Parepare city,” said Arman, a Makassar Basarnas member.

The DVI team has identified some of the 12 body parts recently found in the Makassar Strait to belong to Saiful Rakhmad, 38, the airplane’s technician; and Joe Jeng Fei, 58, a passenger.
