TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesian actor Iko Uwais will be starring in the next Star Wars saga, "The Force Awakens", alongside Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif, his co-stars in "The Raid".
HereBeGeeks reported Iko would be performing the Teras Kasi martial art, as brought to live action from the novel "Star Wars: Shadows of The Empire" written by Steve Perry. Teras Kasi is a martial art that seeks to take down an enemy using its flowing moves like that of Pencak Silat.
It was Iko Uwais’ stunt in "The Raid 2: Berandal" that captivated director J.J. Abrams. Earlier, Iko Uwais had starred in "Man of Taichi" alongside Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves. He is also set to feature in another Hollywood movie "Beyond Skyline" with the star of "Captain America: Winter Soldier", Frank Grillo.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is slated for release on December 17, 2015.
