TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Jakarta Tax Office said 117 companies listed in South Jakarta's 1st Service Tax Department have not paid their property taxes (PBB) as of October 31, 2014. The unpaid tax total is approximately Rp52 billion.
Edi Sumantri, chief of tax services unit of the Kebayoran Baru District Tax Office, said they had sent tax collection letters for the 117 companies. "They must pay on December 10, 2014 at the latest," he told Tempo last weekend.
Edi said the 117 taxpayers are mostly huge companies with fairly high tax rates. "There are also public taxpayers that haven't paid, but we companies," said Edi.
This year, the South Jakarta Tax Service Office is targeting to book Rp1.4 trillion in property tax revenues. As of December 5, the revenues totaled at Rp915 billion, or about 79 percent of the target.
