TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said said he will announce the continuation of contracts of oil and gas (migas) blocks in the third week of November. Those four blocks are parts of 19 currently reviewed contracts that will expire.
According to Sudirman, the contracts are being discussed by a team from the ministry and several parties outside. The team is led by Widyawan Prawiraatmaja, the ministry’s control unit chief.
Widyawan said two of the four contracts that will be announced are Kampar Block and Pase Block in Aceh. Discussion on the contracts that will expire in 2015 will continue. “These blocks can be used by Pertamina. We will hand over the process to Pertamina and Pertamina will decide,” he said.
Kampar Block is managed by Medco Energy and Pase Block is managed by Triangle Energy Ltd. Kampar Block can produce 1,800 barrels of crude oil a day while Pase Block can produce gas of 80.5 million cubic feet a day.
