TEMPO.CO, Kupang - In light of the undetermined fuel price hike, gas stations in East Nusa Tenggara has seen long queues of motorcycles and cars witing to fill up their tanks.

Roni Antoko, Marketing Chief of Pertamina Kupang, said that people are queuing for gas in Sikka, Sumba Island, Kefa, Timor Tengah Utara, Atambua, and Belu. "People are buying an excessive amount of fuel, panicking at the notion of fuel price increase," said Roni.

Nevertheless, Roni said that fuel supply at the Tenau Pertamina Depot in Kupang remains adequate. "The weather is good. Therefore, there is no problem of fuel supply to Pertamina depo or gas stations," he said.

As for cases of excessive fuel stockpiling, Roni claimed that he has had no report of illegal hoarding. However, he said that Pertamina and the Police are applying constant supervision to prevent such case from happening.
