Govt Books US$11mn in Sales Contract from Trade Expo

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Trade Ministry noted US$11 million worth of trade contracts from the 2014 Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI). The contracts were bagged from two United States companies and one Canadian that decided to purchase the goods of three Indonesian firms.
America Furniture Manufacture Inc (AFM), signed a US$10 million sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with PT Integra Indocabinet. Jewel & Jem, a US kids' sleepwear company, signed a US$300,000-deal with PT Angelina Kartika Timur.
Meanwhile, Canada's Axia Distribution Corp. bought US$1 million worth of rubber products from PT Kalibaru.
Deputy Trade Minister Bayu Krisnamurthi said these contracts are a positive sign that Indonesia's non-oil exports have a bright future.
"We see this as a positive signal on buyers' trust in Indonesian companies," Bayu said in Kemayoran, Friday, October 10.
