TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry and state-owned gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) officiated the gas distribution to 4,000 households in Cirebon. ESDM Ministry’s director for downstream business supervisory, Heri Poernomo, said the gas distribution was the continuation of a gas distribution program carried out for low-cost apartments in Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek).
“This is the key to accelerate natural gas utilization that is continuously promoted by the government,” Heri said on Tuesday, October 07, 2014.
PGN business director Jobi Triananda said the company had 402-km long distribution network in Cirebon, which was part of PGN’s 6,000-km gas pipe network across Sumatra and Java. Currently, PGN serves 13,358 customers in Cirebon.
“Most of the customers are households,” Jobi said.
This year, the PGN added a new network that would serve 2,205 households in Cirebon, totaling 19,309 customers in the future.
