TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Delayed compensation payment from PT Minarak Lapindo Jaya to the mudflow victims in the affected areas reach Rp1.2 trillion.
"It is not Rp781 billion," said Dwi Cahyani, an entrepreneur who owns a factory, Saturday, September 27, 2014.
The delayed compensation payment, Dwi said, derived from the accumulation of PAT victims of Rp781 billion, coupled with the rest delayed payment of the businessman amounting to Rp500 billion.
"Overall, the total payment is Rp1,281 billion," she said.
Dwi’s statement was to respond to the working meeting of the Sidoarjo Mud Mitigation Agency council (BPLS), attended by Sidoarjo Regent, East Java Governor and representatives from the Ministry of Public Works on Wednesday in Jakarta.
During the meeting, BPLS will submit a proposal to the government to pay compensation to the rest of the Lapindo mudflow victims amounting to Rp781 billion.
Dwi further said the Council had ignored delayed payment to at least 24 entrepreneurs; in fact, she said, businessmen also suffer from huge financial due to the Lapindo mudflow disaster.
"Our factory is also affected by the mudflow; so why aren’t we included in proposal," Dwi said.
