TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Transition Team deputy Hasto Kristiyanto said Joko Widodo government will evaluate Lapindo victims. "There must be an evaluation in finding the solution for the conflict," said Hasto Thursday.
The president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo will see the recommendation from auditing process. "We will first see the audit result of Lapindo victims. Whether or not the issue will be handed over to private companies, we'll see how it goes," said Hasto.
The bailout through the 2015 state budget will become Jokowi's consideration. "Relocation in the 2015 state budget is possible. We don't see Lapindo problem as solely PT Minarak Lapindo Jaya’s [problem], Hasto added.
Previously, the Sidoarjo Mud Mitigation Agency (BPLS) proposed the rest of Lapindo mud compensation to be paid by the government using the state budget.
The decision is a result of BPLS' meeting with the Justice and Human Rights Ministry, the Finance Ministry, the East Java government and the Sidoarjo government. "The decision of the meeting will be reported and proposed to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono," said Djoko, chief of BPLS steering council Wednesday.
