BI Rate Maintained at 7.5% for 2014

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia (BI) has opted to maintain its benchmark interest rate (BI rate) at 7.5 percent with the lending facility rate and deposit facility rate at 7.5 percent and 5.75 percent respectively.

"The policy is consistent with our efforts to steer inflation towards our target of 4.5 percent with plus-minus around one percent in 2014 and worth 4 percent with plus-minus one percent in 2015, while at the same time lowering the current account deficit to become healthier," BI Governor Agus Martowardojo stated on Thursday.
