TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ali Mundakir, a spokesman of state-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina, said that the proposal to increase the price of 12-kilogram liquid petroleum gas (LPG) was in keeping with its roadmap announced on January 15.
He added the increase was supposed to take place on July 1. "However, we decided to postpone it due to the circumstances. We had fasting and Eid in the same month," said Ali.
Ali, however, said the planned increase was still subject to review, given Pertamina's loss in the year's first semester that reached Rp2.85 trillion.
"If it is in line with the roadmap, we will have an increase of Rp1,000 pe kilogram. But we will calculate it again," he said.
Earlier, Chairul Tanjung, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, said he had received a letter from Pertamina on the planned increase. "Yes, I have accepted the letter. However, the president holds the authority," he said.
