TEMPO.CO, Rafah - Innocent people continue to fall as victims in Gaza. Last Sunday, Israeli troops attacked a school that houses more than 3,000 refugees in Rafah. The attack kills 15 refugees and injured 30 others.
"The bomb struck the [school] gate. A number of people inside and outside of the area were killed," said Adnan Abu Hasna, Spokesperson for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
The attack was the seventh attack launched by Israel against schools in Gaza. Last Wednesday, three mortar shells fired from an Israeli tank destroyed a United Nation-run women’s school. The attack killed 19 people and injured 25 others.
A senior officer of the UNRWA Christopher Gunness, broke into tears as he was being interviewed by Al-Jazeera just moments after the attack that took place on Wednesday last week. "The rights of the Palestinian people, even children are not honored. This is saddening," said Gunness.
