TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) coordinator Ade Irawan stated that Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin is the first minister that wants to visit ICW office. He also said the ICW is selective in receiving visits from agencies or individuals.
"We don’t accept formality. People who come to visit must have willingness and really want the ICW to make a change. Lukman Hakim is one of those people,” he said on Tuesday. Ade will discuss some sensitive issues with Lukman at 14.00.
The talks are mainly about hajj fund. Ade said the ICW will reveal potential corruption, including people that are involved in manipulating project funds. “We will present criticism and proposal for improvement. The presentation will be private,” he said.
The recommendations for improvement came after previous Religious Affairs Minister Suryadharma Ali was named suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission in funding of the Hajj pilgrimage at the Religious Affairs Ministry budget year 2012-2013.
