TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The government has designated three periods in which would-be hajj pilgrims recorded on the waiting list to complete the outstanding payments for their hajj pilgrimage. “The payments should be settled soon, otherwise their slots will be given to other candidates,” Religious Affairs Ministry spokesman Zubaidi told Tempo on Wednesday, June 4, 2014.
Zubaidi said the first period, which would last from June 11-July 9, 2014, was intended for 168,000 would-be hajj pilgrims beginning from the one topping the list downwards. He added the slots for candidates canceling their trips would be passed on to those on the waiting list for July 14-17.
“The last period will be opened from July 21-July 24,” Zubaidi said. He called on would-be hajj pilgrims to complete their outstanding payments at 17 banks that had been appointed by the ministry.
Zubaidi also asked would-be hajj pilgrims on the waiting list to monitor their departure schedules via www.haji.kemenag.go.id or by coming to the ministry’s regional offices in cities and regencies.
