TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama is ready to be Acting Governor for Joko "Jokowi" Widodo who will start on leave on Sunday. Even so, Ahok admitted there are no programs prioritized to be resolved immediately because all programs have been done quickly, as reported by Antara News.
"We're already at full speed," Ahok stated on Friday.
According to Ahok, until now, he has not yet received the official letter of his appointment as Acting Jakarta Governor from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).
"I'm still not an Acting Jakarta Governor yet, because Mr. Jokowi will still be signing papers on Monday. That is why I told him to come on Monday and help me sign the papers, so I wouldn't have to do it and my work is lighter," he uttered.
As known, Jokowi and Ahok had met Home Minister Gamawan Fauzi a while ago regarding duties and obligations of Acting Jakarta Governor. Jokowi will be non-active governor on June 1 until October 20, 2014. During his leave, Jokowi cannot use state facilities, such as home office, official car, household budget, home maintenance service budget, inventory purchase, and healthcare budget. However, he will still receive basic salary and compensation.
According to Government Regulation No. 18/2013 on Leave Permission Procedures and Law No. 42/2008 on Presidential Election, Jokowi can still sign administration papers until June 1. Therefore, Basuki will be the Acting Governor on June 2. While serving as Acting Governor, Basuki can decide some strategic policies, although it must get permission from the Home Minister and have it consulted with the governor.
