TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Great Sale Festival (FJGS) is to take place for over a month, starting June 7 to July 19 in 75 malls and shopping centers in Jakarta. The so-called "discount party" is held by the Association of Indonesian Shopping Center Management (APPBI) of Jakarta, in conjunction to the 487th anniversary of Jakarta.
Chairman of APPBI, Handaka Santosa, said that the annual event casts along SME's products in the opening event. Taking the theme of "Jakarta Baru, Jakarta Maju" (New Jakarta, Developed Jakarta), the opening event at Emporium Pluit Mall on June 7 will present Jakarta's distinctive decoration, culinary and cultural attraction.
FJGS targets a total transaction of Rp13.5 trillion, an increase of Rp1.7 trillion from last year's FJGS. "We are quite optimistic to reach the Rp11.8 trillion as FJGS 2014 is supported by some related associations, retailers, SMEs, cooperations, restaurants, cafes, banks, hotels, airlines and mass media," said Handaka.
