TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Narcotics Agency (BNN) does a routine raid in night clubs, especially in Jakarta. This raid, according to Head of BNN's Public Relation, Commissioner Sumirat Dwiyanto, is held routine every week by the BNN. "We have already raid night clubs more than 25 times," he said to Tempo.

From all of the raids, BNN officials have caught more than 100 drug users, whether they are domestic of foreign citizens. "Everytime a raid is held, we always encounter in drug users, but never caught a dealer or courier. This proves that drug dealers doesn't always appear in night clubs. There are lots of users out there," he said.

Every drug users caught in the raid, according to Sumirat, are proven to be positive in using the illegal substance, because in every raid, BNN officials also ran a urine test.  "Almost everyone that is caught in the raid is positive in using drugs."

The ones that are proven to use drugs then would be examined by the assessment team. "We do not arrest them, but instead, everyone is ordered to participate in a rehabilitation." Whereas for foreign citizens that are positive in using drugs are sent to immigration for further actions.
