TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Justice and Human Rights Minister Amir Syamsuddin refused to comment over Bali Nine member Renae Lawrence's testimony, stating that Schapelle Leigh Corby has claimed guilty for being a drug courier during her trip in Bali. "The Directorate General of Penitentiary has provided me with explanations. I will not talk to the others, one source only," Amir told Tempo.
Previously, Lawrence has stated that Corby had admitted her guilt for being a drug courier. In an interview broadcasted at Ten Network, Lawrence also said that Corby had pretended to have mental breakdown in an attempt to gain sympathy. Lawrence was Corby's prisonmate when serving in Krobokan Penitentiary, Bali. Lawrence was sentenced of 8 years for smuggling drugs.
Minister Amir, upon asked over Corby's parole, refused to comment whether the ministry will cancel the decision, saying that "it is the authority of Directorate General of Penitentiary." However, Directorate General Handoyo Sudrajat stated that Lawrence's statement will not resulted in the revocation of Corby's parole
