TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Coordinator of Corruption Division of the Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) Abdullah Dahlan, suspected that the social aid fund was diverted and used for personal and institutional interest. He mentioned that the increasing social aid fund in the ministry in this election year serves as an indication.
"There are a number of ministries whose leaders are political party's figures," he said. Abdullah explained that there are six ministries listed, including the names of Syariefuddin Hasan, Roy Suryo, Zulkifli Hasan, Muhaimin Iskandar, Suswono, and Helmy Faishal Zaini.
ICW noted that the social aid fund for all ministries and institutions have increased drastically since 2011. Back in 2011, it was Rp77 trillion, "It rose to Rp80 trillion in 2012, Rp82 trillion in 2013, and Rp91 trillion in 2014," Abdullah said. "The increase that is regulated by the president is peculiar."
He later added that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono applied double standard upon instructing all ministries and institutions to be careful on using donation and social aid fund. "The president issued the regulation in the sense that of conflict of interest, given his position in Democrat Party, the incumbent party," said Abdullah.
