TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Surabaya Mayor Tri 'Risma' Rismaharini is considering to resign from her position following numerous threats against her. However, she admitted that was not an easy option so Risma sought guidance by istikharah (a pray to ask for guidance).

"This is not easy and I'm seeking guidance from God whether I have to make the decision," Risma told Tempo yesterday. Risma took Tempo to her office and told that all of her personal possessions had been sent to her house.

"I'm just getting ready. There's a time to choose. If I can’t go into that house, why do I have to insist?" Risma said.

The mayor mentioned a religious leader reminded her not to abandon the people. She said that she is currently thinking about what the religious leader said.

"I can’t stop thinking whether I’m abandoning my people. I have never prayed to be a mayor, but this is my destiny," she said.
