Bogor Mayor Opposes Construction of New Hotels

TEMPO.CO, Bogor - The new elected Mayor of Bogor Bima Arya Sugiarto, regretted that permits to build 12 new hotels in Bogor have been issued. "I strongly disagree on the matter, but what can I do, the permit has been issued," he said yesterday.

Bima claimed that he planned to turn Bogor into a conservational city. This means that the construction of new hotels must be in accordance with conservation requirements. "Bogor will be a city of a million gardens," he said. Most of the hotel developments are based in Pajajaran Road. "There are 10 new hotels being built there."

In addition, he said that will review the development plans of the 12 hotels. According to Bima, if the plans do not go according to the Bogor Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW), it is possible to revoke the permits.
