TEMPO.CO, Bangalore - Social media giant Facebook has just recently purchased a small company based in India called Little Eye Labs—a start-up company that makes tools to monitor and analyze the performance of Android mobile applications. The acquisition was rated at US$15 million.
The mission of this acquisition is to simplify user access to Facebook from an Android smartphone. said Subbu Subramanian, Facebook’s engineering manager said, as quoted by Reuters.
The acquisition of this small company in India is believed to increase the interest of other large companies to acquire start-up companies in the country. The whole Little Eye Labs team will be transferred from their office in Bangalore, India to Facebook Headquarters in Menlo Park, California, USA. The Little Eye Labs team members are Kumar Rangarajan, Satyam Kandula, Lakshman Kakkirala, Giridhar Murthy, Aditya Kulkarni, Gaurav Lochan, Satheesh Anbalagan, and Srikant Sahay.
“We released our official version of Little Eye for Android in early April of this year, and since then we have had many Android developers and testers using Little Eye Labs to measure, analyze, and optimize their app's performance,” said Facebook in an official statement quoted by Reuters.
