TEMPO.CO, Newcaste - Australian police officers have successfully arrested a 15-year-old boy in relation to the Heatherbrae forest fire in New South Wales. The boy is expected to face charges on Monday afternoon, October 21, local time.
Earlier, the police arrested an 11-year-old boy in Raymond Terrace. The boy was suspected of starting a fire in Hunter, Newcastle, that burned over 5,000 hectares of land and destroyed eight buildings and six houses. Port Stephens authorities mentioned that the fire was started in purpose, with a total of five boys being arrested as suspects.
Australian authority responded to a report of bush fire in Raymond Terrace on October 13. Another fire was reported in Heatherbrae Williamtown before it spreadsout to other regions inculding Campvale, Tomago, and Medowie. Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons from the Australian Fire Fighter confirmed that currently, there are 58 hotspots, 14 of which are unreachable.
