TEMPO.CO, Florida – Disney will soon realize the world of 'Pandora', were the blue-skinned people of Na'vi resides in the James Cameron movie 'Avatar'. Tom Staggs, Walt Disney Parks and Resort Chairman, announced that Disney will create a Pandora attraction at the Disney Animal Kingdom theme park in Florida by 2017.
Tom Staggs unveiled an image of the park during the D32 Expo at the Tokyo Disney Resort last weekend. The Avatar theme-land will be developed by Walt Disney Imagineering together with Jams Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment. Previously, Disney had first announced plans for the new attraction back in September 2011.
"Guests will encounter awe-inspiring floating mountains and wander through a nighttime jungle of bioluminescent plants alive with light and sound," said Staggs."Guests will also discover what it feels like to soar into the sky while riding a banshee [a predator bird featured in the movie]."
James Cameron himself claimed that he "kept imagining Pandora coming to life all around me and found my mind racing with all the possibilities of what we will be able to create in the years ahead."
