TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - The Yogyakarta Sultanate will prepare 20 units of golf carts to transport elderly guests for the wedding of Sultan Hamengku Buwono X's daughter. “The buggies will be provided on 22 October to transport senior guests,” spokesman of the Yogyakarta Government, Iswanto, said on Sunday October 13.
Senior guests are given a parking spot on the north pavilion while VVIPs and VIPs can park their cars at Keben.
Among the VVIP guests are the President and Vice President as well as former Presidents and Vice Presidents. Some former government heads that have confirmed their attendances are Megawati, Try Sutrisno, Hamzah Haz and Jusuf Kalla. Among the VIP guests are ministers, department heads, member of the legislative councils as well as ambassadors and governors.
Citizens of Yogyakarta who wish to watch the wedding procession can do so through three wide screens that will be installed the Abu Bakar Ali parking lot, the Inna Garuda Hotel court and the Malioboro zero point.
In a previous interview, the Sultan said he would not give a holiday for the palace staffs during the reception. "The reception is only a few hours. After that, back to work,” Sultan said.
