TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Budget for Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) III, that takes place in Palembang, Sumatera Selatan, September 22, is far from being realized. Anthony Sunarjo, Chairman ISG III, admitted that the committe cannot do anything without any budget allocation.
The Rp80 billion budget, supposedly retrieved from the state's budget, is not yet disbursed, since the Draft on Presidential Regulation ISG III as the legal protection for the event has not been signed by President SBY. The President, however, is still away in his visit to Russia.
"We are still waiting for the regulation, because there is no way that the budget will be realized without any legal protection. Who will, then, be responsible?" said Anthony.
The draft consists of legal protection for non-tender items and service provision for ISG III. With less than three weeks to hold the ISG event, Anthony is less optimistic since the regulation requires at least 45 days in process.
Yuli Mumpuni, the Secretary of Sport and Youth Minister, confirmed that the President has not signed the draft, given that it still needs more revision.
