TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Adi Toegarisman, Director of Investigation at the Attorney General Office (AGO), said the Communications and Information Minister Tifatul Sembiring would be called in relation to the Sub-district Internet Service Vehicle (MPLIK) corruption case.
"The trial depends on the vindication. If there is any entity needed questioned, then we will do it," Adi said yesterday, July 31.
Adi believes Tifatul will obey AGO and whether Tifatul’s testimony will be needed.
Earlier, AGO has declared two suspects of the MPLIK corruption case: Multi Data Rencana Prima Director Doddy Nasiruddin, and also the Procurement and Financing Management Agency for Telecommunication and Information Head Santoso.
The case began when the Ministry allocated Rp3 trillion to provide internet access in many Indonesian regions. The Ministry worked with several internet providers such as Multi Dana Rencana, Telkom, AJN Solusindo, WIN, Lintas Arta, and Radnet. AGO then pointed out the procurements which did not meet the technical and operational specifications defined in the contract document.
