TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel advisory for Indonesians who wish to travel to Egypt.
"Having closely monitored the development of the situation in Egypt from time to time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia advised every Indonesians to delay their trip to Egypt, particularly to the Sinai Peninsula, until the situation is stable," said an official statement from the Ministry Tempo received today, July 25.
A political turbulence after the change of leadership in Egypt has sparked a number of demonstrations in some regions, particularly in Egypt’s capital Cairo. The series of demonstrations had claimed many Egyptians' lives. The ongoing protests have resulted in the closing of some roads by the police forces, and some public places still do not operate normally.
