TEMPO.CO, Malang - Indonesia Socer Association (PSSI) Malang office has failed to report the utilization of Rp 3,5 billion (around US$347,405) of grant funds out of a total Rp 5,5 billion (around US$545,922). An audit conducted by the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) showed that PSSI Malang failed to take responsibility for the budget.
"The detail is absurd," said Fransiska Rahayu Budiwiarti, the Head of People's Welfare Commission at the Regional House of Representatives. However, PSSI is yet to respond to the allegation.
2012 Malang Regional Budget allocated Rp 13,7 billion (around US$1,35 million) for the Indonesia Sport National Committee (KONI) office in Malang. The budget was then allocated for local PSSI as much as Rp 5,5 billion, before being sent to other 56 sport branches.
In response to the audit, Haris Tofly, secretary of PSSI Malang, stated that he has made a report and filed it in accordance with legal procedure.
