TEMPO.CO, Ontario - BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins had previously announced that the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) service would be making its way to Android and iOS in summer. However, after the first announcement, there has been no follow-up confirmation from BlackBerry regarding its BBM application. Now the Canada-based company has denied the rumours that the new application would be released on June 27. It seems that the app anticipated by Android and iOS users would not be launched until September 2013.
The news was released by Sunil Lalvani, BlackBerry managing director, who said, "The service is coming to Android this summer. However summer as per North America where it remains till September."
He did not confirm anything about the iOS BBM app, but a report quoted by the PhoneArena website assumed that the iOS version will be released at the same with the Android version.
