TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Dell offers a minimum-sized integrated server called PowerEdge VRTX. The product is specialized for small medium businesses. "The device is giving a solution that emphasizes efficiency," said Frannata Suryanto, the Enterprise Solution Director of Dell Indonesia in Jakarta, Thursday June 27. He said the solution includes consulting services, deployment, and support services.
"We offer lower price, smaller size, and lower power requirements," said Frannata.
The appearance of PowerEdge looks like a CPU with a slightly wider size. The device can save up the office space for controlling information-system technologies. It only requires 1,100 Watt of power supply. "The product will arrive next week and we could not mention the price yet," said Frannata. He guaranteed, "The product is sound-pollution free, unlike those devices inside an IT room which are normally noisy," he added. Frannata said Poweredge VRTX can stand the heat up to 45 degree Celsius.
The product has a direct system management that can be controlled from distance. In each PowerEdge VRTX system, a chassis management controller console is planted to control the server, storage medium, and fast integrated network components.
As the deployment service, the director said the installation will be done directly by Dell technician. "PowerEdge VRTX is easy to install since the cable usage is 86 percent simpler than the general server used in a data center," he said.
Dell will start selling PowerEdge VRTX in Indonesia next week. Frannata explained that in addition to small medium businesses, the product is potentially used in health, banking, education, administration, and military sectors. "We will also introduce the device to regions, district offices for example," he said.
