TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Apple-1, the first computer ever made by Apple, is on auction by Christie auction board. The auction is conducted online starting June 24 to July 9 in the event titled: "First Bytes: Iconic Technology from Twentieth Century". The computer made by Apple founder duo, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, is expected to be sold at US$300,000 to US$500,000 or about Rp3 billion to Rp5 billion despite of its original price of US$666.66.
In 1976, this computer was initially sold without keyboard and monitor screen provided. The buyer only got the motherboard. However, in the auction package, the computer now owned by Ted Perry has been provided with monitor and keyboard.
There are 200 units of Apple-1 auctioned by ChristieThis month. The average starting price is US$300,000. It is estimated that there are 200 units of Apple-1 belong to other consumers. However, Perry's Apple-1 is believed to be one of the 25 units that was assembled by Steve Wozniak himself. This Apple-1 is predicted to be sold at US$500,000 or about Rp5 billion.
