TEMPO.CO, Beijing - Chinese astronauts gave a live lecture to hundreds of students and teachers at Chinese schools from the spaceship Shenzou-10. In the occasion, female astronaut Wang Yaping stated she did not see any UFOs.
"Through the front windows, we can see the Earth and many other stars, but up till now, we haven't seen any UFOs," Wang said.
Wang is one of the three astronauts participating in the Chinese space mission launched last week. The public lecture was given through a live feed 340 kilometers above earth to 330 elementary and middle school students in Beijing.
"We are beyond Earth's atmosphere and due to the lack of obstructing atmosphere, the stars we see are much brighter, but they do not twinkle," she said.
"Meanwhile, due to the absence of the atmosphere with its light scattering feature, the sky we see is not blue but is deep dark. And also I can tell you a wonderful phenomenon. We can see sunrise 16 times a day as we are circling the Earth every 90 minutes," Wang continued.
