TEMPO.CO, California - Google announced that it will attempt to help removing child pornography from the internet. Jacquelline Fuller, Google CEO, in her website said that the wide spread of pornographic materials in the internet has made children vulnerable to sexual abuse. "It is important for the community, parents, teachers, and companies to help eradicate the problem," she said.
Google plans to create a database of child pornography to be shared among IT companies, law enforcers, and charity foundations across the globe. The database will help them share information, collaboration, and wiping out pornographic images from websites.
The Telegraph cited that the Google's plan was based on pressures applied by British politicians. British Prime Minister David Cameron even requested Google and other search engines to improve effort in eradicating pornography.
As a response, Google will use a new technology to tag the images showing child sexual abuse with a unique identification code and block it from public viewing.
