TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Instagram will finally make its appearance on Windows Phone 8 (WP8) based handsets by the end of June. According to Chinese site WPDang, Instagram will come to WP8 on June 26, 2013. The rumor says that the photo-sharing application will have a photo-filter feature for Microsoft OS. Yet the feature will only be included in Nokia's newest phones such as Lumia 928.
Windows Phone 8 is a robust mobile OS, but it has not yet enjoyed the popularity like iOS and Android do. In the United States alone, Android has a 51.7 percent market share and iOS, hot on its tail, 41.4 percent; whereas Windows Phone still needs to sharpen its sales with only 5.6 percent market share.
Consumers demand more application, including Instagram, one which WP8 lacks. It would be a major gift for Microsoft when Instagram finally makes way to WP8. Besides Instagram, mobile OSs also need Vine, which is already available in Android since the beginning of June.
