TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -At least six people were dead and five others were injured in a shooting incident on Friday, June 7, 2013 in Santa Monica, California, United States.
The gunman made his way to Santa Monica College and started shooting at people, cars and buildings. He was finally shot dead by the police at Santa Monica College Library. As reported by New York Times, Saturday, June 8, 2013.
The shooting took place about three miles away from where President Obama was attending a private fund-raising lunch before heading to Palm Springs for a meeting with the president of China. The gunman, who has not been identified yet, was described around 25 to 30 years old, dressed all in black, wearing what appeared to be a ballistic jacket. His body was found around 180 meters from the library.
"We are not convinced 100 percent that the suspect who was killed operated in a solo or alone capacity," said Santa Monica Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks.
The campus was then searched for a second shooter, and a man dressed entirely in black also, with the words "Life is a Gamble" on the back of his sweatshirt, was seen being taken into custody by law enforcement officers. He did not appear to be wounded.
