TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -Prince Al Waleed bin Talal from Saudi Arabia sued Forbes magazine for underestimating his wealth. He has now filed a repot of defamation against the magazine in the London High Court following its report that the Prince was only worth US$20billion, which is, according to the prince, a US$9.6 billion lower.
Forbes published the world's richest millionaires list on March 4, 2013. But apparently the prince think Forbes wrote his value all wrong. He accused Forbes of making a biased display against him.
The London High Court also confirmed that Prince Al Waleed has sued the magazine's publisher Randall Lane and its two journalists, Kerry Dolan and Francine McKenna on April 30, 2013.
Prince Al Waleed is the grandson of the Saudi Arabia founder and is also King Abdullah's nephew. He has a number of shares in the Citigroup, News Corp and Apple Inc, in addition to several luxurious hotels like the Plaza in New York, the Savoy in London and the George V in Paris.
