TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indofood Sukses Makmur will build two new palm oil plants this year. "The construction is scheduled for completion by the end of the year. The plants will operate early next year," said Indofood Director Paulus Moleonoto in a public expose at Indofood office, Wednesday, May 29.
The two plants will be located in South Sumatra and East Kalimantan. Both will have the capacity to process 45 tons and 80 tons of oil palm per hour, respectively. The plants cost Rp 150 billion and Rp 200 billion with "funds coming from internal cash," Paulus explained.
Following the construction of the two plants, the company will also build three new plants in West Kalimantan and South Sumatra. The construction process has been scheduled for next year.
Furthermore, Indofood will boost the capacity of its existing plants. The company owns 21 palm oil plants with the capacity to process 900 tons of oil plam per hour.
