TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will decide the legal status of the Prosperity and Justice Party’s (PKS) Syura Council Chairman Hilmi Aminuddin after the trials on Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq and Ahmad Fathanah are conducted. Hilmi is currently a witness in the beef import quota graft scandal.
"Hilmi’s status cannot be determined yet because we need to wait for the development from the case trials against Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq and Ahmad Fathanah," said KPK Chief Abraham Samad via text messaging on Wednesday, May 29.
In the beef import quota scandal, Hilmi had been questioned about a Rp 750-million worth of house paid by Luthfi for Hilmi. The house is located in Cipanas, West Java. Luthfi was the former PKS president who was incriminated for receiving bribery from meat importer PT Indoguna Utama. The bribery was given through Luthfi’s inner circle, Ahmad Fathanah.
