TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Ministry of Energy and mineral Resources (ESDM) will cut Rp 1,49 trillion (US$151,88 million) from its expenditure in the 2013 State Budget revision (APBN-P 2013) . Currently, the government has managed to trim down Rp 24,6 trillion (US$2,50 billion) of ministerial and institutional expenditures in the APBN-P 2013 in an effort to cover budget deficit.

"We will secure capital expenses because it's essential to support economic growth. Therefore, we have to cut down expenditures, meeting budgets, and study budgets," said Waryono Karyo, Secretary General of the ESDM Ministry.

Jero Wacik, ESDM Minister, stated that his ministry will reduce unessential side project budgets while top programs like oil to gas conversion maintain a high priority.
