TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ukrainian fishermen captured three peculiar fishes in 2010. Further analysis showed that the fishes were never been discovered before. The fish was then named Hopbeard Plunderfish with binomial nomenclature, Pogonophryne Neyelovi. It was released as report detail in ZooKeys journal last April.
The new species has species an exceptional shape, with a brownish splattered along its body. It looks like a tadpole, with a razor sharp back fin and a weird-looking tentacle in its chin.
The length of these three specimens were 35.5 centimeters. It lives in a deep ocean. Upon discovered by the Ukrainian fishermen, the fishes were in 1,390 below sea level.
This fish has an amazing size of liver, filling in 35 percent of its belly. Until now, it remains unknown what their behavior and foods are in such depth.
