TEMPO.CO, Gaza – Haytham al-Misshal, a Palestinian and member of the Salafi Jihad, was killed in an airstrike launched by Israel at Gaza on Monday, April 29, as confirmed by Hamas officials.
Misshal is believed to be "an anchor of terror" in Gaza and was involved in several rocket attacks to Eliat city, South of Israel. Israel Defensive Force (IDF) believed that Misshal was an expert on assembling rockets and bombs.
Before the airstrike, Israel and Palestinian militants fought an eight-day war on November 2012, resulting in a truce. The deadly airstrike was the first attack since the truce, following a series of riot in Israel – Gaza border in the last couple of days. Palestinian militants were reported to launch rocket attacks to Israel territory.
