TEMPO.CO, London – Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger, regretted that they only scored one point in a match against Everton at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday (17/4). Wenger claimed that the team should have won the match.
Despite having threatened Tim Howard’s goal ten times, Arsenal failed to score any goal. The Gunners’ had it’s best chance to score in the 42nd minute when Aaron Ramsey passed the ball to Olivier Giroud in the penalty area. However, Giroud missed the goal.
“We should have won the game,” Wenger insisted. “I regret that we failed to score despite the chances we had. Maybe we used too much power instead of technique.”
The match puts Arsenal third in the current standings, with a possibility to be overruned by Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. Arsenal managed to collect 60 points from 33 matches, just 2 points ahead of Chelsea and Spurs, which only had 31 and 32 matches, respectively.
Nevertheless, Wenger feels confident that his team can finish the season in the top four.
“We are in a good position in the competition for the top four,”said the French manager.
