TEMPO.CO, London – On February 2013, Jamie Carragher, Liverpool’s central defender, announced that he would retire at the end of this season. However, Brendan Rodgers, manager of the Liverpool football club urged Jamie to postpone his retirement. Rodgers plans to put Carragher in the main squad for the rest of the season.
Rodgers will discuss the possibility of keeping Carragher in Anfield before his contract ends. “Carra’s been fantastic and I do believe he could play well next season,” Rodgers informed Sky Sports, Sunday, 14 April 2013.
Rodgers is waiting for Carragher’s decision at the end of the season, and admitted that it would be hard to lose the 35 year-old back.
“If he devcides to retire, I will certainly miss him because he’s been brilliant for me. As a manager of a club this big, it will make me sad,” said Rodgers.
