Surabaya set to Host APEC Conference

TEMPO.CO, Surabaya - The city of Surabaya, East Java, will host the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference, from April 6-21. The international meeting will be attended by delegates from 21 countries.

Ifron Hadi S, head of cooperation for the Surabaya city administration, said on Thursday, April 4 that the event would see 35 to 38 special meetings.

The APEC conference will be divided into two events: a second Senior Officers Meeting (SOM) from April 7 to 19, and the Ministers Responsible for Trade (MRT) meeting on April 20 to 21.

Ifron said the city's administration is making the necessary preparations to make the event successful, including road clearing, repainting road markings on several streets and organizing street vendors.
