According to Forbes Magazine, here are the top 10 richest people in the US in 2024 based on their net worth as well as the sources of their wealth as of August 15. 

1. Elon Musk - $195 Billion

Elon Musk ranks first in the list of the richest people in the US with his various business ventures. Among them are very notable in the development of innovative industries. He co-founded Tesla, an electric car company, SpaceX, a leading space technology company, and The Boring Company. 

2. Jeff Bezos - $194 Billion 

With a net worth of $1 billion, Jeff Bezos is the second richest man in the US. He is the founder of Amazon, the most influential e-commerce company in the world. He started the company in 1994 from his garage in Washington. By now, he is greatly admired by many young entrepreneurs. 

3. Mark Zuckerberg - $177 Billion 

The one and only Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, ranks third on the list of the richest people in the US. He first created Facebook as a student in 2004 to connect with his classmates. 4. Larry Ellison - $141 billion

7. Steeve Ballmer - $121 Billion 

Steve Ballmer was the former CEO of Microsoft from 2000 to 2014. He started as an employee in 1980. After retiring from Microsoft, he gained attention by buying the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers for $2 billion. He is now one of the richest people in America. 

8. Larry Page - $114 Billion 

Larry Page co-founded Google in 1998 and invented Google's ranking algorithm with Sergey Brin. He served as Google's CEO until 2001. Today, he remains a board member and shareholder of Alphabet, Google's parent company. 

9. Sergey Brin - $110 Billion 

Similar to his fellow student from Stanford University, Larry Page, Brin earned a net worth valued at $110 billion after co-founding Google in 1998. 

10. Michael Bloomberg - $106 Billion 

Michael Bloomberg, one of the pioneers of the financial information and media industry, is ranked 10th on the list of the richest people in the US. He co-founded Bloomberg LP in 1981 and served as Mayor of New York City from 2002 to 2013. 

All of these American billionaires are among the top 12 richest men in the world, according to Forbes magazine. In fact, these richest people in America rank second to twelfth, falling behind French businessman Bernard Arnault & Family as the number one richest in the world.
