Jokowi, Iriana Starts Today's South Sulawesi Visit with Tanjung Bira Beach Stop

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi continued his working visit to South Sulawesi Province on Friday, July 5. He and First Lady Iriana began the morning by enjoying the scenery at Tanjung Bira Beach, located near their overnight stay.
The head of state then continued the journey by visiting Cekkeng Market in Bulukumba Regency. Photos shared by the Presidential Secretariat showed them greeting residents at the market. The President was seen fulfilling requests for selfies, while his wife distributed packages to locals.
Jokowi arrived in South Sulawesi on Thursday, July 4. On his first day, he visited Bone Regency, where he reviewed the distribution of 300 water pumps for irrigation of rice fields in Jaling Village.
He then visited the Palakka Central Market to check prices and interact with residents. His first day concluded with a visit to the Sinjai Regency Regional General Hospital (RSUD).
After reviewing the healthcare facilities, he expressed satisfaction with the hospital's cleanliness, organization, and sufficient human resources.
“This is a regional hospital that’s clean and well-managed. [The hospital] has more than enough doctors,” Jokowi told reporters as quoted from the video release.
